Gary Yount, 40, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after he evaded police at a restaurant drive-through window and fled into the woods near the 3300 block of S Eastern. Before the pursuit, officers approached Yount to question him about a shooting. Yount pointed a gun through the window of his other, startling an officer. The officer fell and accidentally fired one shot, which struck the car.
