Officers Dan Anders and John T. Kurtz Jr. reportedly backed off from chasing Jason Manton before he collided head-on with another car, killing Karen O'Neal and injuring her husband. Manton, who was also killed in the crash, tried to flee police and entered the southbound lanes of Interstate 77 from Brecksville Rd. going in the wrong direction.
