Biography
Mohammad Seidi was a 22-year-old Kurdish Yarsani youth from Sarpol-e Zahab in Kermanshah Province. He worked as a laborer and was the main provider for his family, supporting his mother and three sisters. He had moved to Karaj due to economic hardship. During protests on 8 January 2026, he was shot by security forces and later died from his injuries after two days in hospital.
Born in Sarpol-e Zahab, Mohammad Seidi grew up in a Kurdish Yarsani family and later relocated to Karaj with his family in search of better economic opportunities. As the only son, he carried significant responsibility as the primary financial provider for his household, including his sick mother and three sisters. On the evening of 8 January 2026, he was present during protests in Karaj when he was struck by live ammunition fired by government security forces. The bullet reportedly hit his throat, leaving him in a coma. Despite emergency medical care, he died two days later on 10 January 2026. His body was later buried in Sarpol-e Zahab on 12 January 2026 after his family reportedly faced pressure and financial demands during the process of body release.
