Asna Raisi

Asna Raisi was a young student living in the city of Minab in southern Iran’s Hormozgan Province. At 12 years old, she was studying at Shajareh Tayyebeh Primary School, where many local children attended classes. On the morning of 1 March 2026, the school was struck during a reported air strike amid rising tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Witnesses said that the first explosion hit the school building, causing destruction and panic among students and teachers. Staff members attempted to protect the children by moving them to a safer area and contacting parents to come and collect their children. However, a second explosion reportedly struck the location where survivors had taken shelter, resulting in additional casualties. Asna Raisi was among the children who lost their lives in the attack. Her death formed part of a larger tragedy that killed many students, staff members, and civilians. In the days following the strike, thousands of mourners gathered in Minab to attend funeral ceremonies and pay tribute to the victims.
