Police responded to reports of an armed man chasing a person in Pella's Brook Circle neighborhood at about 8:30 a.m. While officers were enroute, the man, identified as Williams Shaw, entered his other and fled east on Idaho Drive. Officers stopped Shaw's other, and a 20-minute standoff ensued. According to police, Shaw shot himself with a handgun and was pronounced dead at a hospital.
