Less-than-lethal force

A plainclothes officer on narcotics detail was approached by Anderson, wanting to buy crack cocaine. When the officer produced his badge the two fell into a physical struggle. The police description was that Anderson "fell to the ground and hit his head on the sidewalk," which fatally injured him. The officer was quickly exonerated and was back on duty within three weeks.
