At about 8 p.m., Genesee County 911 received a report of a drunken driver traveling south on I-75 near Bristol Road. State trooper Rob Mossing saw a other matching the description and pulled it over. As Mossing approached, the driver reportedly fled, police said. A high-speed chase ensued until the driver lost control of his other just east of the Miller Road intersection. The car crossed the eastbound lanes, went off the road, struck a utility pole and rebounded into the eastbound lanes, where it struck another other, killing mother and daughter Wendy Lenore Schaffer and Lindsey Schaffer.
