Deadly force
Martin had both a mental health history and a criminal record. Agitated, uncooperative, incoherent, and violent, four local police officers confronted Martin for not complying with court orders by not taking his medications. They left him fatally wounded with three gunshots after he reportedly charged them with a small hatchet.
