Biography

Wala’ Mohammad Ibrahim Amen was a 24-year-old woman from Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. She was six months pregnant at the time of her death and lived with her family in a home that became the target of Israeli airstrikes on May 13, 2021. Wala’ was killed alongside her two sisters and their father when missiles struck their home during a night of heavy bombardment that killed at least 36 Palestinians across Gaza. Her life was cut short in an instant, together with the unborn child she carried, in an attack that left behind only grief, rubble, and devastation.

Wala’ Mohammad Ibrahim Amen, born and raised in the Gaza Strip, was a young woman of 24 years old when her life was tragically ended in an Israeli airstrike on May 13, 2021. Like many in Gaza, she grew up under conditions of siege, repeated wars, and severe humanitarian challenges, yet remained deeply tied to her family and community. At the time of her death, she was six months pregnant, carrying with hope the next generation despite the hardships surrounding her. Her home in Beit Lahia was a place of family life and safety, but it was obliterated in a matter of seconds when Israeli missiles struck without warning.
