According to witnesses, a police car pursuing a Jeep Grand Cherokee led to a crash that killed cab driver Wahab Meer and seriously injured two others. At 1 a.m. the Jeep was going south on Cardinal when it struck Meer's cab in the intersection as he drove eastbound on Olive. The collision pushed Meer's cab south on Cardinal and into three parked cars. Meer was pronounced dead at a hospital. A passenger in the Jeep was critically injured.
