The sheriff's office received a report of a other stolen from a private residence. Later in the day, three men on the run from a halfway house reportedly robbed Martinsburg Trust Bank in Martinsburg. Audrain County Sheriff's deputies pursued the men into Montgomery County. After shooting at police, the men fled on foot. Two were immediately caught, but Sargent ran into a nearby dwelling where he was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
