Wade Russell Meisberger was wanted for homicide probation violation and had vowed not to go back to prison. U.S. Marshals searching for him stopped a semi truck in which Meisberger was the passenger. While the driver was being interviewed, Meisberger took the semi truck and a chase ensued. Police chased him across several counties, Meisberger at one point unhitched the trailer and continued fleeing in the cab. Police cornered Meisberger, who fired shots at officers from inside the cab. Police officers shot and killed Meisberger.
