Deadly force

Farrand's wife called 911 after he became enraged and suicidal about a mutual friend who had made an unwanted advance toward her. Farrand was armed when police arrived at the home. They removed the wife from the home then Farrand came outside brandishing a handgun. Three officers tried to talk him down, but Farrand put his finger on the trigger and pointed the handgun at police, and one of the officers shot him four times, killing him.
