Three county officers and a state trooper found Lumia behind the wheel of his other, having rammed the house of his stepfather. The stepfather informed the police that Lumia was bipolar and off his medication. Partly cooperative, Lumia refused to unlock his door and finally rammed police vehicles with his Ford Explorer. He was fatally shot.
