Residents called police when Vergel Ricafrente Worrell reportedly rambled through their neighborhood screaming profanities and shooting a handgun into the air. A police crisis negotiator attempted to calm Worrell to no avail. Worrell pointed his handgun at an officer who shot and killed him.
