Innocent motorist Perez was struck at 64 MPH in a residential intersection by a suspect in a stolen pickup. He was killed by the impact. The suspect was being pursued by two police cars, running stop signs along with the pickup and showing "reckless disregard for the safety of others", according to a $3M suit filed against the city.
