At around 11:40 a.m., Modesto officers responded to a security check call in the area of Woodland and Rosemore avenues, where a subject was reportedly in possession of a firearm. Police exchanged gunfire with the man and shot and killed him at the Church of the Brethren. Details were withheld by police. Later reports stipulated that Trevor Seever was unarmed with his hands in the air when he was killed by Officer Joseph Lamantia.
