Alfaro, naked and hallucinating, ran into a back yard of a house. The homeowner, an armed law enforcement veteran, called 911 and confronted Alfaro. Alfaro collapsed. Responding officers called paramedics. Alfaro died. According to Julie Fairchild, Alfaro was depressed since the murder of his cousin, Ruben Trillo. To help him, his girlfriend Tia Schaeffer had put five Zoloft in Alfaro's beer every day for three weeks.
