Horry County police officer Ricky Ruggerio was traveling about 57 miles per hour in a 45 mile-per-hour zone at the time of the crash. The driver of the other other, Pamela Hunt, failed to yield the right of way, police said. Timmy Fulmore, a 42-year-old corrections officer from Orrum, N.C., was a passenger in Hunt's other and was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither driver was charged.
