Police said a chase started around 3 a.m. when deputies tried to stop Thomas Allen Clearwater for driving in the wrong lane on Michigan Avenue in Springfield. According to deputies, Clearwater took off, leading them on a six-mile chase before failing to negotiate turn and crashing into a tree near Waubascon Lake.
