Suicide

Thomas Allan Miller died in an explosion after police arrived to investigate a report that he'd attacked a woman with a rubber mallet. The woman ran into the street at around 1 a.m. where she was assisted by a neighbor. Miller told police that the house was filled with gas and that he was armed. Police backed away from the door. Less than a minute later, Miller set fire to his living room and an explosion blew out the east windows. A second explosion occurred soon after. Miller died of smoke inhalation.
