Around 2:30 p.m. police were attempting to serve a search warrant and collect evidence for an open investigation at an apartment. An apartment manager unlocked the door, and police reportedly announced themselves, but when officers were walking up the stairs to a bedroom, a person shot at them. Officers were able to back out of the unit without returning fire and a standoff began. After several hours of attempting to make contact with Terreco Robinson, a robot was sent in to search the apartment. The robot was unable to enter one of the rooms, so police entered and found Robinson dead in that room.
