Deadly force
Police chased Terrance Franklin, having identified him as a burglary suspect. Franklin broke into a home. Police sent a dog into the basement, and police followed. Two police were shot, although it was unclear who shot them. Police allege Franklin shot them with a police service weapon during a struggle. Franklin was shot and killed by police. In February 2020, the city of Minneapolis settled with the family of Terrance Franklin for $795,000.
