At approximately 2:45 a.m., police officers were alerted about a stolen SUV. Officers tried to stop the other, but the driver, Terrance L. Tilley, fled south. A deputy joined the chase, and Tilley allegedly kept stomping on and off the brakes in an attempt to wreck his pursuers. Tilley drove over a set of raised railroad tracks and lost control of the SUV and crashed. He died later in the hospital. An injured passenger survived.
