Suicide

Police say a robbery happened at the KeyBank at 101 E. Main Street. The suspect jumped in a getaway car with a woman behind the wheel. They got as far as 2nd Avenue and D Street SE where he encountered a bicycle officer. Police say the man got out of the car and fired at the officer, who then fired back. The man was hit and went down in an alley between D Street and Main Street. It's was immediately unclear whether he was shot by a police officer or if it was self-inflicted. He died on Sept. 27.
