Warden Chris Sanchez received an automatic text message from a game camera at a conservation area. The attached picture reportedly depicted a man trespassing on the property. Warden Sanchez apprehended Patrick Allen Hodges and chased Steve. Steve ran away. Warden Sanchez grabbed Steve and tried to pepper-spray him. Steve ran away a second time, crossed a fence and fell 30-40 feet into a dry riverbed. Texas Ranger Gary Phillips investigated.
