At least 15 patrol cars from multiple jurisdictions cornered Benoit in a silver Chevrolet Impala he'd just carjacked. After a chase, he was trapped then shot to death when he reportedly used the other as a weapon to ram police vehicles and attempt to run them down. Officer reported he'd also been armed with a silver handgun.
