Stephen Gene-Henry Shawnoskey reportedly pulled into Aundre Lamont Hernandez II's driveway and shot Hernandez multiple times. Michigan State Police found Shawnoskey in Wellston and were told he just tried to steal a other before running into a swamp. Troopers established a perimeter around the area, and Shawnoskey allegedly pointed the gun toward deputies, then fatally shot himself.
