At 9:10 p.m., troopers received a 911 call about an unwanted person at the Stop Abusive Family Environments facility (SAFE). Shawna Widemann reportedly was armed with a claw hammer banging on the door. The SAFE facility was put into lock down status,. The troopers found Widemann, who was brandishing a claw hammer. She reportedly ignored orders from the troopers to drop the weapon and lunged at one of the troopers in a threatening manner. At least one trooper shot and killed her.
