Shawn Fondren was chased by multiple police agencies when Rankin county deputies attempted to arrest him for auto theft in another jurisdiction. Rankin deputies used stop sticks and blocked Fondren before they shot and killed him. He had driven the wrong way on highway 49 during the pursuit.
