Davis was out on bail for attempted murder and kidnapping, and had a scheduled court appearance later in the day. She ran several red lights, pulled a "wild" U-turn in front of police, then crashed her carjacked other into a minivan. The police describes a brief struggle in which she grabbed for an officer's gun and somehow shot herself in the chest.
