Around noon, officers responded to a report of a man with a handgun behind a building on Main Street. Shannon Wilcox allegedly fired rounds into the air and ground, refusing to drop the weapon or speak with police. After about 50 minutes of negotiating, Wilcox threatened the officers with the firearm. A deputy shot and killed him.
