Reno police were called to a multiple-car chain reaction. Witnesses told officers about a man who had been involved in the crash who was holding a knife to his throat, and another person reportedly trying to disarm him. Officers found Sergio Alvarado-Morales with the knife and talked to him, trying to get him to put it down. He approached the officers, and they shot and killed him. Peculiarly, a witness claimed he pulled a gun.
