How they died

Shot by a sniper from government forces of the Islamic Republic while in the area of Falakeh Kakh in Gorgan. The shooting was carried out from the top of Sarmayeh Tower. Security institutions pressured the family to declare he was a Basiji member and conditioned the return of his body on accepting this narrative. Family and relatives emphasize that he was a protester and rights activist with no affiliation to government institutions.
