On September 25, 2022, Israeli forces ambushed and shot him dead while he was riding a motorcycle in Nablus. His killing came during a wave of Israeli military operations in the area.

Sa’ed Adnan al-Koni was a 26-year-old Palestinian from the city of Nablus, a hub of youth resistance in the occupied West Bank. He was an active member of the “Lions’ Den,” a relatively new Palestinian armed group made up of fighters from multiple political movements, created to foster unity in resisting the Israeli occupation.
