Deadly force

Ryan White Mountain-Soft allegedly was shot and killed by an Bureau of Indian Affairs police officer on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. The officer allegedly entered the home of White Mountain-Soft's mother, Debra White Mountain, without a warrant or announcing their presence, and shot White Mountain-Soft in front of his mother and brothers. Details as to what precipitated the killing were withheld by police. An agent's name was initially attached to this death, but we don't have written documentation from the government to support it. At the request of the agent, we've removed the name, and we regret any error we made and any confusion we caused.
