Authorities said Shorak, who had been drinking alcohol, threatened his wife and was armed with an AK-47 and 50 caliber pistol. She left the home, but when police arrived the man fired at least ten shots at officers with a semi-automatic rifle. After several hours of standoff, police shot and killed him.
