Clark, on parole from California, had fled from a traffic stop in a stolen other earlier in the day. Caught again snooping around cars in a retail parking lot, Clark conducted an armed standoff with police for more than 45 minutes before he was killed in the final firefight. The coroner said his fatal wound was self-inflicted.
