Suicide
A woman allegedly was shot by her boyfriend, Robert Welch. He fled in a car and was not present when officers arrived. Later that night, Gila River police officers initiated a pursuit when they located Welch's other, which ended when he crashed. Officers heard a gunshot from the other. When officers approached the car, they found Welch dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
