Deadly force
Suspect in an armed robbery and car theft, Apodaca ran, hid, and ambushed pursuing officers in a 10 p.m. standoff. He wounded one of the police in the upper thigh. Apodaca died in an exchange of gunfire. Only later did officials determine his fatal wound had been self-inflicted.
This record exists so that Robert S. Apodaca, and all who are named in this archive, are never reduced to a number.
