Around 2:50 a.m., a 911 call was made about a other break-in. The 911 caller told dispatchers that shots were exchanged between the homeowner and the alleged thief. Just after 3 a.m., deputies found the person and the other. Gunfire was exchanged, and one deputy was struck and injured, eventually dying from the injury. Robert Doss was shot and killed by police.
