Police received a call about 4:30 p.m. regarding a suicide attempt at Robert Carter's house. When they arrived, Carter went to the back door with a revolver in his hand, threatening to kill himself, police said. He allegedly pointed the gun at them, and Carter was shot twice and killed while inside the house.
