Deadly force
Robert J. Talbert suffered from severe bipolar disorder. After fatally shooting his wife, Talbert informed his sister-in-law, who was in the house with her husband. They left the house and called 911. Talbert had left the house, breaking into several houses in the neighborhood before ultimately carjacking a other which he drove to his brother's house. After pointing a handgun at his head, Talbert broke into two more homes. The owner of the second home had a shotgun and forced Talbert outside where police officers were waiting. Clutching a handgun, Talbert ignored warnings to drop the weapon and attempted to run. Two officers shot and killed him.
