Robert Edward Hart attempted to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head, his wife grabbed the gun as he pulled the trigger and he missed, grazing his temple. Hart's wife called 911, and gave the police Hart's gun when they arrived. An officer approached Hart, who allegedly reached for his waist. Fearing Hart was armed, the officer shot and killed Hart. Hart was unarmed at the time.
