Around noon, officers were dispatched for a family disturbance. Police allegedly were confronted by a man with a knife, and two officers shot and killed Robert Alire. The family called police, concerned for Alire's welfare. He was schizophrenic, and the family wanted to get him to a hospital to get medication.
