Trooper David J. McClintock spotted Oskin "driving at an extremely high rate of speed" on the Amos K. Hutchinson Bypass (Toll Route 66) and pursued him for several miles. He was killed during a police chase about a quarter-mile south of Interstate 70 when his car collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by Keith Price, of New Stanton.
