Massey was one of four occupants of a car pulled over by police, who noticed he was consuming what they believed to be drugs. When told to stop, he resisted. When tasered, he went almost immediately into medical distress, and died shortly afterward. Reportedly his blood contained a remarkably high level of cocaine.
