Suicide
Police took a pistol from McDaniel but didn't get a chance to pat him down for a second gun. Police said he broke free of the officers as they tried to frisk him, slid into the rear of the cruiser and pushed the barrel of a gun to his forehead in a parking lot. After a three-hour standoff, he pulled the trigger, killing himself.
