Deadly force

Officers responded to an apartment complex about 3:30 p.m. regarding shots heard outside the apartment complex. A man was attempting to force his way into an apartment with a rifle. When officers arrived and saw Richard McCormick, they demanded he drop his gun. An officer reportedly shot less-lethal bean bag rounds at McCormick. When McCormick allegedly pointed the weapon at the officers, they shot and killed him.
