Reza Eskandarpour was killed during anti-government protests in Tehran. He was shot after returning to help a wounded friend who had been hit by security forces during the demonstrations.

Eskandarpour was struck by six live rounds fired by a sniper positioned on a rooftop. He was killed at the scene. Two other individuals accompanying him were also reportedly shot and killed during the same incident.

Biography

Reza Eskandarpour was a 37-year-old resident of Tehran, born in October 1988. He owned a cabinet-making workshop in the Ariashahr neighborhood and was known among acquaintances as a hardworking tradesman. At the time of his death, he was preparing to get married and planning for his future.

Reza Eskandarpour lived and worked in the Ariashahr area of Tehran, where he operated his own cabinet-making business. As a skilled craftsman, he earned his livelihood through woodworking and local trade. Friends and sources described him as someone building a stable life, with plans to marry soon. On January 8, he joined protests in his neighborhood alongside five friends. During the unrest, one of his companions was shot. Eskandarpour attempted to assist his injured friend, demonstrating what sources describe as an act of courage. It was at that moment that he was targeted and fatally shot.
